Welcome to the SocialGO Developer Wiki!

Welcome to the SocialGO API docs. This WIKI is designed to be an evolving resource for SocialGO Network Owners and third party developers who are interested in building on our platform. For developers, there are currently 3 main areas :

• Accessing and updating SocialGO Network Content Using the API
• Integrating SocialGO with an existing application using SSO and data synchronization
• Building Custom Themes for SocialGO Networks
• Building Widgets that can be purchased and added to our networks.

Niall Giggins (niall@socialgo.com) is our Third Party program manager and is on hand to provide support and further information on our developer tools. Please contact him for more information or for questions.

As the API continues to develop, please feel free to provide feedback and share your examples with us. We are committed to building a powerful platform for developers to build and look forward to regularly building on these tools in the coming months.

Next Release of the SocialGO API Class is v:0.6.5.0 Due: Early Nov 2009

To do any of these tasks, you will need a server where you can host your scripts. The examples here are all provided in PHP however you can translate these to any other language should you wish to.

If you are already running a 3rd party service then most likely they will support PHP and you can host your scripts there. You can also read our Development Best Practices section that will guide you through setting up a development environment and introduce you to some of the best practices for safe and fast script hosting.
